Encouragement for a Perfectionist
We are all so beautifully shiny deep inside. It is letting that out, even in an incomplete form, which inspires others. If you have something to share, share it. If it benefits from additional refinement, go ahead and do that later - because the weight of releasing the 0.9 version gives the inspiration to go to 1.0. Please don't sit on something exquisite just because you don't think it's 100% perfect... that would be a waste. Shine!

It's frustrating trying to please others. Some people won't even like your best work... it happens... there's a law of affinity at work here. If they love it, great! Do more! If they don't, don't worry, just move on. Work your path. When you care about something you worry about it, it's part of who YOU are... just don't melt yourself down about it, sweetie!

BTW when I feel like I need to put in 200% to get it right for someone, and that would be painful/difficult for me, I try to share where I'm at as an unfinished project and get feedback. If they fail to give feedback, then I have a preview that this person may be unpleasable. If they do give feedback/encouragement, then I feel comfortable putting in more effort. I don't tend to partner well with people who are unwilling to preview things and offer guidance... I can't stay motivated for a PASS/FAIL at the end of a long effort.
